What is Pterostilbene?

Pterostilbene is a naturally occurring polyphenol belonging to the stilbene family of plant compounds. It is structurally related to resveratrol but has two methoxy groups that make it significantly more stable and more easily absorbed by the body. This polyphenol is found in small amounts in plants such as in blueberries, grapes, almonds and certain tree barks, where it functions as a protective compound against environmental stress. Pterostilbene is most well known for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, which make it highly valuable for supporting various aspects of health.

The impressive antioxidant abilities of pterostilbene are well recognised and significantly contribute to protecting long term health. History:

Historically, pterostilbene was unknowingly used to support health through the consumption of blueberries which have long been valued in both European and Asian herbal traditions to reduce inflammation and improve circulation, digestion and general wellbeing. Modern research has since isolated pterostilbene as one of the compounds responsible for these benefits provided by blueberries, leading to its development as a concentrated nutritional supplement ingredient.
