Astaxanthin - 7mg - Super Antioxidant - UV Protection

I used to get my Astaxanthin from Krill oil supplements along with other ingredients necessary for the body but as I have already stated since you have stopped supplying them I thought I would give this product a try, again time will tell if they benefit me in any way.

This is my go-to health support product. Take it everyday without fail. A great product at a good price and no nasties.

These supplements are good value but I have noticed that the potency reduces the longer you have the bottles from opening. The last two bottles i have had the tablets turn green about half way through using, having googled this it says the likely cause is oxidation of the axathenthin which renders them useless for antioxidant purposes which is a shame. For reference the bottles are stored in the dark and are only opened once a week to get them out.

Have taken this for several years and think it helps support my immune system.

I should have researched it more before ordering as have since discovered it will interfere with my Warfarin medication, so I haven't taken any Astaxanthin yet.

I tried this to help stop getting sunburn, and it works! So, now it's an annual purchase in the sunnier months. Aside from my own experience, good to know it reduces UVA-induced damage, skin wrinkling and water loss while increasing the barrier function of the skin. Happy days!

Reading up on this excellent supplement, there are other important potential benefits, which may be less obvious to experience. One is boosting brain health and protecting cognitive function. Another is protecting the heart from oxidative stress and inflammation.

I’m also keeping tabs on its eye-protective properties. In my 50s and managing without needing reading glasses, and I feel maybe this supplement has helped. I’ve recently added the Lutein/Meso-Zeaxanthin/Zeaxanthin complex to enhance eye support as much as possible. It’s good to know that Astaxanthin’s protection includes the front part of the eye, while Lutein/Zeaxanthin protect the back part, and that these carotenoids don’t compete with each other in gut absorption (at least that’s what YouTube said).

I take this daily, alongside Time Healths Eye Complex to help protect my eyes. My mother had ARMD and I was recommended by one enlightened eye specialist to take a range of supplements to promote my eye health. I have suffered from atopic dermatitis for the last 10 years. Tried everything, from very clean diet to probiotics and other supplements. Then I found out the people with my condition have low concentration of caretonoids and retonoids in their blood plasma. After supplementing the astaxanthin in the dose of 3 capsules 2 times daily the condition of my skin has become much better, less flaky and itchy. Another fantastic product from time health. I find this perfectly dosed for me at 7mg as astaxanthin has a half life in the body is 16 hours which is the time it takes for a substance to lose half of its original dose - This means i can take it two days a week, spaced out through the week and still keep optimal levels in the body to maximise health benefits.
