UTHEVER NMN (Nicotinamide Mononucleotide) – Used to generate nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+), a powerful molecule found within every cell of the body that is involved in hundreds of metabolic processes. NAD+ Works as an energy booster, metabolism booster and supports cellular health. NMN acts as fuel for Sirtuins – key regulators of ageing – the activity of which decreases as we age.
Micronized Resveratrol – Resveratrol is a polyphenolic compound, naturally found in both red grapes and Japanese knotweed. When eaten by humans, polyphenols such as resveratrol have significant antioxidant effects. Resveratrol has recently received a large amount of attention due to the mounting scientific research indicating the super antioxidant has numerous benefits for the body including its anti-ageing properties. Resveratrol helps to reactivate ‘dormant’ Sirtuins, supporting healthy ageing.
Quercetin – In addition to its well documented antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, quercetin also acts as an anti-ageing agent, sharing rejuvenating properties that result in the attenuation of premature senescence.
TMG (Trimethylglycine) – Homocysteine is a common amino acid in your blood which you get it from eating meat. High levels of homocysteine are linked to cardiovascular issues. Trimethylglycine (TMG), also known as Betaine, plays a role in methylation processes in the body. Methylation is important for maintaining healthy levels of homocysteine and also supports cell health.
Pterostilbene – Like resveratrol, pterostilbene is a polyphenol – a family of compounds that help to protect the body against a large number of age-related conditions. Research has identified that resveratrol works in synergy with pterostilbene to help prevent age-related disorders.
Folate – Folate is an important nutrient at all ages, playing a key role in DNA and RNA production. In addition, there is growing evidence of folate’s involvement in the ageing brain, especially in terms of cognitive functioning.
B12 – B12 is vitally important in the production of DNA and RNA.
What do Resveratrol & NMN do in relation to living longer?
World-renowned researcher, David Sinclair, describes resveratrol and NMN as critical for the activation of sirtuin genes. Sirtuins play a key role in functions that help us to live longer – such as cellular repair.
He describes resveratrol as the “accelerator pedal” for the sirtuin genes (increasing their activation), and NMN as the fuel. Without “fuel”, resveratrol won’t work. The reason that resveratrol won’t work effectively without NMN, is that sirtuin activation requires youthful NAD levels, but by 50 years old, we have about half the level of NAD we had in our 20s (NAD being a molecule that is essential to energy production in our cells).
So in effect, you take resveratrol to increase activation of the sirtuin genes, and NMN to ensure the sirtuins have enough energy to work properly.
