What is noni fruit?
Noni fruit is native to South-East and Southern Asia, and has been used for centuries for its medicinal properties which boost the immune system and helps in detoxification. It is considered a sacred plant in Ayurveda and is rich in antioxidants, vitamin C, vitamin B3, vitamin A and iron.
Health Benefits:
Immune System support
Noni fruit is high in vitamin C, in fact 100ml of noni juice contains about 33% of the recommended daily intake for this vitamin. Vitamin C supports the immune system by protecting cells from free radical damage and environmental toxins. There are other antioxidants in noni fruit – such as beta carotene – that may also improve overall immune health.
Traditionally used to treat all types of infections, fevers, respiratory problems and digestive disorders, studies also now support this theory. Research shows that noni activates immune cells such as dendritic cells, which are important for identifying foreign invaders and helping to build a high powered adaptive immune response.
May reduce cellular damage
Excessive exposure to tobacco smoke can generate a dangerous amount of free radicals that can cause cellular damage and lead to oxidative stress. Many illnesses are related to oxidative stress including heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. Studies show that consuming antioxidants – noni fruit in particular – can reduce oxidative stress, one study showed a 30% reduction of two common free radicals after consuming noni juice for one month compared to their baseline levels.
History:
Noni is a sacred plant in the ancient medical practice of Ayurveda and has been known to man for approximately 2000 to 3000 years. It is claimed as a balancing agent, which helps to stabilise the body and give it perfect health. In history people would take noni with them when exploring new lands, to help establish unfamiliar islands.
Typical Uses:
The appropriate dose of noni depends on several factors such as the user’s age, health, and several other conditions. We suggest taking 1-4 capsules of our Noni Fruit Extract per day, or as directed by a health practitioner.
